The team plays in the national football league and are also a member of the national football conference. It has its headquarters in Valley Ranch in Irving, Texas. There is a plan to shift the headquarters to Frisco which is again located in Texas. The home games of the respective team are played in the home ground of Dallas Cowboys stadium or AT&T stadium. The stadium took the latter name in 2013. The joining of the team was done in 1960 as an expansion team. The franchise of cowboy’s shares the record of the most super bowl appearances with teams such as Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers. There are five recorded wins of the team in super bowl. They have their tie of their wins with their biggest rivals which are San Francisco 49ers.

The formation of the team in the NFL was about to done in 1960 when Clint Murchison Jr. had was trying for an expansion. There was conflict between Marshall, who was the owner of the Washington Redskins which lead to the expansion of NFL and a rivalry between both of the teams was born. In the period of 1970’s, many games were won by Dallas team (105 season games) and it was a record of its own during that particular span. There were five appearances by Cowboys in Super Bowl and there were two victories by them which were at 1971 and 1977 seasons. Thus, from that moment, there was no look back for the team and though there were matches who were lost by the team but they are still considered as one of the greatest teams of all times. The rivalries with other teams are well known and their main lists of rivals are Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers.
