With the 2016 season closing in fast, most teams in the National Football League have intensified their efforts to make new signings to bolster their existing squads. Dallas Cowboys has not been left behind. It’s official now that we have signed Maliek Collins into our ranks. During the recent NFL Draft, the former Nebraska DT lineman appeared as one of the last four critical players to be in the April draft from his playground in Nebraska and join us. We managed to select him in the fourth round of the NFL Draft with the No. 67 being the overall magic pick that led us to him. Maliek Collins Injury
However, Collins career in the NFL seems to have started on a rough note after he suffered a broken foot in June during Organized Team Activities. Mark Collins’ injury is an early season blow for us Since we are planing to keep him at sideline for the next 10 to 12 weeks. His injury required the surgeons to stabilize his broken foot using screws and bone grafts. However, we hope he will recover in time for the new season that kicks off on September 8, 2016.
Maliek Collins Highlights
Maliek Collins is a former Nebraska Defensive Tackle. He famously decided to forego his senior season with the Huskers in 2015. However, his career in Nebraska has been magnificent. The following are some of Maliek Collins highlights for the three years he played for Nebraska. During the 2014 season, Collins registered 4.5 sacks and 45 tackles. In the 2015 season, he registered 2.5 sacks and 29 tackles. At only 21, we hope Collins will provide Dallas Cowboys with more options at the defensive line.
