Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame Game 2017

This will be the 6th time that the Cowboys appeared in a Hall of Fame series and will be the fourth time for the Cardinals. Also, the former Cardinal quarterback Kurt Waner and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Cardinals played in the Hall of Fame against the New York Giants, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, and the most recent one on 2012 against the New Orleans Saints. The Cowboys with a 2-3 standing played with the Chicago Bears, Oakland Riders, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Miami Dolphins in 2013.

Because the games are played earlier compared to previous years thus making it a time to evaluate new players before the season starts.

Carson Palmer and Dak Prescott will not most likely play in Canton. Both would most probably save it for the regular season.

Some notable Cowboys who were inducted into the Hall of Fame were Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Randy White, Troy Aikman, Rayfield Wright, Bob Hayes, Deion Sanders, and the most recent player, Larry Allen.

Last 2013 NFL Hall of Fame game, the Dallas Cowboys played against the Miami Dolphins in Canton, Ohio. They defeated the Miami Dolphins by the a score of 24-20.

The 24-year old Tanner rushed for 59 yards on 10 carries with the first touchdown in the first quarter. He also had a 17-yard gain where he looked good in inside and outside tackles. The third-year player out of Middle Tennessee State did great throughout the entire game along with Lance Dunbar.

Alex Tanney led all Dallas quarterbacks with 58 yards on 5-of-11 passing. He also made a 32-yard completion on the clincher with Alex Tanney.

The offense of Miami could not create any openings throughout the first three quarters. Veteran Mat Moore helped lead the Dolphins on a failed comeback who tossed 238 yards on 19-of-29 passing. Coach Joe Philbin was unhappy with the lackluster offense of the Dolphins. It took 50 minutes for his team to get to the end zone in the game. The Cowboys won the Hall of Fame game without relaying much on their offense but with their stifling defense.

For this year’s Hall of Fame Game, we expect to have an exciting game coming from the first-timers. The game will take place on Thursday which is two days before the enshrinement. There will still be looming problems due to last year’s Hall of Fame Game. The contest was canceled due to wet paint on the field in Canton. On the other hand, this will help spread out the festivities during the week and will mean more business when NFL fans staying near the venue.

Furthermore, this will draw more television coverage due to the fan-base of the Dallas Cowboys.
